For SMBs in Taiwan:
Odoo implementation & customization
One system to run your whole company.
Quotes, orders, inventory, accounting, invoices—the day-to-day work scattered across Excel, LINE, and separate applications, brought into one system. Beyond ERP, customer relationship management (CRM), e-commerce websites, in-store POS, HR, and projects can all connect in Odoo. ChibaKuma Studio supports you from evaluation and implementation through long-term maintenance after launch.
The first consultation is free, held online, and takes about 30–60 minutes.
// Every sale in Odoo looks like this
Start tracking when a customer inquiry arrives
Create with one click; customers confirm online
Confirmation creates the order and reserves stock
Pick and ship; stock is deducted automatically
Issue from the order and track payment
Automatic posting, real-time reports
Each step automatically carries over data from the previous step—no retyping, no copying errors, and business owners can see the full picture at any time.
Do these situations sound familiar?
“Orders are in Excel, inventory is in another file, and accounting goes to an outside firm—we only find out at month-end whether we made a profit.”
Scattered data leaves decisions a month behind.
“Sales enters the order, the warehouse enters it again, and accounting enters it once more—three people doing the same task.”
Manual copying wastes time and introduces errors.
“To see a report on which product was most profitable this quarter, we wait three days for colleagues to compile it manually.”
With connected data, reports should be available in real time.
An open-source ERP used by 28 million people worldwide
Odoo is an open-source ERP from Belgium, with over 28 million users worldwide and more than 80 built-in modules (official Odoo figures, 2026). It makes ERP, once affordable only for large enterprises, accessible to small and mid-sized businesses.
One subscription, all modules
CRM, sales, purchasing, inventory, accounting, websites, POS, and more—all available at one price. Prices are published on the Odoo website (from US$13.50/user/month), so you do not have to wait for a sales quote.
Open source, no lock-in
Community is fully open source, and your data belongs to you; Enterprise uses a commercial license. You can move or change providers at any time, with no vendor lock-in.
Start small and expand as you grow
Start with two or three modules to get daily operations running smoothly. Add modules as your business grows, without implementing everything at once.
Customization when you need it
When standard features do not fit your processes, custom modules can fill the gap. That is our core expertise.
A restaurant chain in Taiwan
In a chain with more than 120 staff, one accountant uses Odoo to handle vouchers, payments, branch reviews, and business tax, reducing time spent by about 60%.
A mid-sized manufacturer in Taiwan
The second generation implemented Odoo after taking over the business. Core modules went live in 3–6 months, and the on-time order delivery rate rose from 60% to 97%.
An export manufacturer in Taiwan
A manufacturer with 90% of its sales from exports chose the Odoo.sh cloud plan and significantly improved delivery date accuracy.
These Taiwan implementations come from official Odoo case studies and public reporting by Business Weekly. They were not implemented by our studio and are included only to illustrate how Odoo is used in Taiwan.
Implementation led by engineers,
from configuration to customization
Many ERP implementations stall because consultants can configure the system but outsource customization and integration. ChibaKuma Studio takes a different approach: we are a software development team first, and an Odoo implementation provider second.
We build custom modules ourselves
Your processes do not have to be forced into standard features. We develop custom fields, approval workflows, and report formats as modules.
Connect your existing systems
Your website, shopping cart, POS, payment services, and logistics systems can stay in place. We connect them to Odoo through APIs.
Local requirements in Taiwan
Odoo already includes Taiwan’s chart of accounts and definitions for tax reports 401/403/404, as well as the ECPay e-invoice module from version 18 onward. During implementation, we configure your invoicing scenarios and return workflows together.
AI is our core business
Our studio’s core business is AI adoption for businesses. Quote automation, AI customer service, and operational data analysis can add another layer on top of ERP.
Supported versions and
how e-invoices are issued
Taiwan’s chart of accounts and the ECPay e-invoice module are both included in Odoo’s open-source edition. During consultation, we assess whether you need the paid edition based on your reporting and filing requirements.
Supported versions
- New implementations use Odoo 19 or later versions that are still within official standard support
- Client systems use only major releases (such as 19.0 and 20.0), not the intermediary releases issued every two to three months for Odoo Online only and upgraded on Odoo’s official schedule
- Both Community (open source) and Enterprise (paid) are options; we compare them directly during consultation
- Each major Odoo version receives three years of official standard support; we plan the upgrade schedule during implementation
We do not take on maintenance or upgrades for legacy systems on Odoo 18 or earlier.
E-invoices (Taiwan, ECPay)
- Built into Odoo since version 18: Odoo sends invoices to ECPay, which uploads them to the Ministry of Finance
- B2C: mobile barcodes, Citizen Digital Certificates, EasyCard/iPASS, ECPay invoice carriers, and donation codes
- B2B invoices with a Taiwan Business ID (Unified Business No.), zero-rated exports, and customs clearance method annotations
- Allowances (credit notes) and voids; invoices can also be issued for e-commerce orders and in-store POS sales
For Odoo projects, we integrate e-invoicing only with ECPay. Before launch, we run the full workflow in ECPay’s test environment using your actual transactions from the previous month.
The e-invoice workflow
- IssueOdooInvoices, e-commerce orders, in-store POS
- Value-added service centerECPayUploads to the Ministry of Finance on your behalf
- RecordkeepingMinistry of Finance e-Invoice PlatformNon-business buyers: within 2 days starting from the following day
Business buyers: within 7 days starting from the following day
Allowances (credit notes) and voids for returns follow the same route: processed in Odoo and uploaded through ECPay to the Ministry of Finance platform. Deadlines are not extended when the last day falls on a holiday.
Four stages to make the system part of daily work
ERP implementation is half systems and half processes. We do more than install software: we help you define how your company works.
Consultation and requirements review
A free consultation helps us understand your current situation. We then review workflows and pain points, confirm the scope, modules, and schedule, and put everything in writing.
About 1–2 weeksSystem configuration and data migration
We set up the environment, configure modules, and migrate existing customer, product, inventory, and opening accounting data. Custom development happens at this stage. Before starting, we confirm the company’s country and main currency—the main currency cannot be changed once journal entries exist.
About 2–6 weeks, depending on scopeTraining and parallel testing
Each department gets hands-on training. Old and new workflows run in parallel until the data matches and staff are comfortable, then we switch over. New settings are first verified on a test copy of the production database. We disable email, live payments, and other external integrations on the copy and confirm isolation before testing.
About 2–4 weeksLaunch and ongoing support
We switch over to the live system. Your business will change, and the system needs to adapt. We offer maintenance on a monthly fee basis and ongoing support.
OngoingThree starting points based on your size and needs
Quotes are based on the scope agreed after consultation. We do not sign you up at a low price and add charges later.

For businesses already using Odoo, regardless of who implemented it, that need technical support that responds.
What business owners ask before implementation
Our company has fewer than 10 people. Is ERP a good fit?
Yes, and small companies can see results faster than large ones. Start with 2–3 modules and go live in about one to two months. The key is not company size, but whether the same data is entered more than once. If it is, ERP is worth evaluating.
What is the difference between Odoo Community (free) and Enterprise (paid)?
Community is free and open source, covering core features. Enterprise requires a subscription and adds full accounting, mobile access, advanced features such as Studio, and official cloud hosting. The right choice depends on your needs and budget. We compare them directly during consultation, rather than only recommending the more expensive option.
How long does implementation take? Will it affect current operations?
A small implementation takes about 1–2 months; projects with customization take about 2–4 months. Before launch, old and new workflows run in parallel. We switch only after confirming that everything works, avoiding an abrupt overnight change of systems across the company.
Does Odoo support Taiwan e-invoices and accounting?
Yes. Odoo includes Taiwan’s chart of accounts, definitions for tax reports 401/403/404, and the ECPay e-invoice module (from version 18). Odoo sends e-invoices to ECPay, which uploads them to the Ministry of Finance. The setup depends on your B2B/B2C mix and bookkeeping practices. During consultation, we run a sandbox validation using your actual purchases and sales from the previous month, rather than a demo with dummy data.
Is our data safe with you?
You own the system and the data; we provide implementation and maintenance. You can choose Odoo’s official cloud or your own hosting environment. Access permissions and backup strategies are clearly defined during implementation and delivered in documentation.
What do we confirm before accepting a project?
Four things: you have a project contact authorized to make decisions; management participates in key decisions; a post-launch maintenance budget is allocated; and the scope is agreed in advance, with a phased rollout. If any of these is missing, we explain the risks and suggest how to address them before quoting and deciding whether to accept the project. The initial period after launch is usually when staff find the change hardest, so we schedule training and support in advance.
Implementation issues, documented on our tech blog
Taiwan e-invoices in Odoo: the hard part is deadlines and credit notes, not ECPay integration
Since Odoo 18, the official ECPay e-invoice module has been built in, so issuing invoices is no longer the problem. Upload deadlines and the credit note workflow are what can hold up implementation.
Odoo 19 can run on a 1.9 GB VPS—if you decide upfront it is not a production server
Memory guardrails, settings that must be disabled on a public-facing server, three points the documentation leaves unclear, and where this machine falls short.
